Halloween fun and games!

Don’t forget it’s Halloween on 31st October, so stock up on your supply of goodies for Trick or Treaters. If you’re staying in, why not check out the fun and games at these cool Halloween web sites:

1. Ben & Jerrys Halloween Fun

http://www.benjerry.com/fun/halloween/

If you’re an ice-scream fan (ha ha!) you’ll love the interactive Halloween pages at the Ben & Jerry’s website. Visit the Flavour Graveyard and the Crypt to see all the B&J ice cream flavours that have been consigned to the history vaults over the years. I can’t believe I’ve missed the chance to try White Russian flavour – it’s one of my favourite cocktails! Kids will love the Ghoulish Games, Creepy Crafts and Colouring Pages, which have plenty of activities to keep them quiet for a while. Aside from all the fun stuff, the site has some educational stuff too. There’s a History of Halloween page that has lots of fascinating facts about the festival and how it’s celebrated in other parts of the world. Apparently the ‘Day of the Dead’ is considered by many to be the most important holiday of the year in Mexico… who knew?

2. Halloween Arcade

This site has loads of silly flash games that are quick to play and perfect for keeping you entertained if you’ve got an hour or so to kill. My favourite is the Halloween Nightmare - a version of the popular Jewel game. Here you have to swap the skulls in the grid to make a line of three that then drop off the screen. Simple, but very addictive!

 3. Halloween Recipes

Lots of websites have Halloween recipes, but how many of them actually taste good? You can rely on the recipes at the BBC GoodFood website to be as delicious as they are spooky, as they’ve all been tested first and most have reviews and ratings from people who have tried them out. I love the look of the Eyeball Pasta. Tasty tagliatelle and pesto tomato sauce is topped with mozzarella balls embedded in half tomatoes, forming eyeballs that look disturbingly realistic.

4. Halloween Mountain

Another site with lots of cool Halloween flash games to keep you amused in your lunch hour. The Skeleton Cannon is highly addictive – tilt the cannon and adjust the power level to shoot your skeleton as far as you can. If you’re lucky, you’ll hit a few spider web trampolines, coffins or pumpkins to accelerate you on your way. Score highly and you might just make it into the Hall of Fame.
