I have had many vacuum cleaners with the same problem. The rewind mechanism is spring loaded, so once the spring fails it has to be replaced. If it’s a cheap vac then it’s probably not worth it.

Yes, if your vacuum is less than 2-3 years than it should still be under warranty, most are. And maybe you purchased a shop protection when you first bought your vac, always a good idea, if so you can get fixes like these done at no charge.

I love how your first point is about hiding your hairdryer! It is so very true! My hairdryer always seems to be lying about and sometimes I even lose it.

I also like your second point about putting shelves in the wardrobe – I really wish it was easy to get hold of a wardrobe that was just shelves as the majority of my clothing does not need hanging up!

That is a very good idea for an oil cloth. If you have kids, you could have them design one and use that for the table cover. Then you can brag about how creative your children are when company comes over.

I worry that not having a bag actually releases more of the dust and allergens into the area, we have a bagless and it’s impossible to empty without a cloud of dust :(
