When washing carpets, a mix of water and solution is applied to the surface to enable the brushbar/brushes to agitate carpet fibres, lifting dirt and stains. Some carpet washers use cold water in this process.

Vax heated cleaners use technology where heat is directed onto the carpet using warm air from the motor. This warm air helps carpets to dry more quickly.
